How to use it:
(Your online cream purchase will come with similar directions- follow these exactly for maximum efficiency and numbness.) In order to ensure maximum numbing, please don't drink Alcohol, and/or Milk within 24 hours of Tattooing, or the numbing may not be as effective. We recommend spot testing the day prior to use, especially if you have sensitive skin for 10-20 mins on a small area to ensure that your skin doesn’t become inflamed. Some minor localized redness and tingling is normal. Directions: DO NOT SKIP ANY STEPS! Apply exactly 1 hour before your appointment time. 1. Wash with antibacterial soap and lightly exfoliate the area to be tattooed to remove dirt and dead skin. Shave off any body hair if you can reach the area. Dry area completely. 2. Apply a THICK amount (2-3 millimeters thick) of numbing cream to entire area to be tattooed plus 2-3 inches around. You may use the whole tube. Rub it into the skin as best as you can. It is OK if there is still some white cream left on the surface. 3. Cover with plastic wrap like saran wrap (not Saniderm, not press ‘n’ seal). Cover well, wrapping all the way around the area to be tattooed if you can (for example: if tattooing the inner forearm, use cling wrap around the whole lower arm to ensure a thorough cover.) The heat under the plastic wrap activates the cream and prevents it from drying out. You will feel warmth and possibly a slight stinging/tingling feeling as it activates. Do not skip this step or it won’t work. 4. Arrive to your appointment with your numbing cream and plastic wrap on. (Do not remove it prior to your arrival.) We will remove it and clean it properly before beginning the session. Skin typically remains numb for 3-4 hours once cream is removed depending on your skin type and location on the body. Please purchase your cream at our shop or on the website listed below. (We can only sell our inventory to clients who have appointments here at Rose Noir Tattoo Studio.) Order at least 2 months before your appointment date. Order 2 tubes of cream per session scheduled (or more for very large pieces). Each tube is one application.
